The Ruling on a Hadith That Contradicts The Noble Qur’an

According to our Imams, peace be upon them, any hadith that comes from the Prophet ﷺ and contradicts the Book of Allah, Exalted be He, must be rejected and not accepted.

The best and safest path for attaining divine knowledge and related matters is the path of the Zaydi school and its Imams, for it is the secure way that no one who follows it will ever go astray — as testified by the Prophet of Mercy, the Messenger of this nation.

Furthermore, there is no group among the sects of Islam that has definitive proof for its claim that the truth lies with it and on its side.
Some, however, argue that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said — to clarify that the truth was with them — “That which I and my Companions are upon,” or words to that effect.
But there is nothing in this hadith — neither in its explicit wording nor its implied meaning, neither by clear statement nor by indication — that proves the Ash‘aris, or Wahhabis, or Hanbalis, or Zaydis are upon the truth, or that the truth is with them.

As for the Zaydis, the evidence has explicitly and clearly stated that the truth is with the family (ʿitrah) of the Messenger ﷺ.
Numerous hadiths have been transmitted, well known among the Muslim community, beyond any possibility of being counted.
These hadiths were narrated by those various groups in their own books, and they declared them authentic.
Thus, Allah — exalted be He — has established the proof against all creation, as He said:

“That he who perishes may perish upon evidence, and he who lives may live upon evidence. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.”
(Qur’an 8:42)

Therefore, whoever takes his religion from the family of the Messenger ﷺ and upon them be peace, has held fast to the firmest handhold which will never break.
And whoever follows a religion other than that of the family of the Messenger ﷺ has gone astray from the path, wronged himself, and fallen into the darkness of misguidance — as proven by the saying of the Most High:

“What is there after the truth but error? So how are you turned away?”
(Qur’an 10:32)

All praise is due to Allah for showing us the way out in times of disagreement, and for guiding us to know the people of truth — abundant, pure, and blessed praise, as much as He deserves.
We cannot enumerate His praise; He is as He has praised Himself.
