Imam Mānkadīm al-Mustaẓhir Billāh
Face of the Moon — Peace Be Upon Him
Imam Mānkadīm al-Mustaẓhir Billāh, Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn Abī Hāshim Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Imam Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan — this al-Ḥasan being the grandfather of Imam al-Nāṣir al-Uṭrūsh — ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿUmar al-Ashraf ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (may God be pleased with them). He called to God immediately following the death of Imam al-Muʾayyad Billāh, over whom he had prayed. He is among the notables of the People of the House and among those deeply versed in the sciences.

He died at al-Rayy in the year 42x AH. May God’s mercy and peace be upon him.
The face of the moon — a fitting epithet for one who was, in his knowledge and standing, a light among the People of the House of the Prophet ﷺ.
