Concerning Allah Not Decreeing Except in Truth

Certainly not! Allah does not decree disbelief or disobedience, for such things contradict wisdom and appropriateness. As the Exalted says:

“Allah decrees in truth” (Q. 40:20).

Thus, the statement does not allow that one be disobedient by Allah’s judgment and decree—whether by means of creation or command. Such a claim is invalid. The consensus of the Muslims holds that being content with disobedience is impermissible, while being content with the decree of Allah is obligatory.

This distinction is consistent only if we affirm that disobedience is not from Allah’s decree in the sense of His command. Rather, the intent is that He created it, but He did not command it.

Regarding Allah’s Complete Knowledge of It

Allah is completely cognizant of all things. This is a well-known principle. However, His knowledge of an act does not necessitate that the servant must commit it.

The servant is not compelled to do anything, as has already been mentioned.
