Peace Be Upon Him

Full Lineage

Abū Muḥammad ʿAbdullāh, son of Imam Muḥammad ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Waṣī (peace be upon them).

His Mission

Journeyed to the land of al-Sind during his father’s days, summoning its people to Islam. A great host entered the religion of God at his call.

Martyrdom

Shaʿbān, year 151 AH — five years after his father. Age: thirty-three years. Killed by Abū al-Dawānīq al-Manṣūr.

His Mission to al-Sind

During the days of his father al-Nafs al-Zakiyyah, Imam ʿAbdullāh journeyed to the land of al-Sind, summoning its people to Islam. A great host of them entered into the religion of God at his call.

~50 battles fought against the armies of the ʿAbbāsids
~3,000 enemy soldiers killed in those engagements
33 years of age at his martyrdom
His Martyrdom

He was martyred (peace be upon him) in Shaʿbān of the year 151 AH — five years after the killing of his father — at the age of thirty-three. He was killed by Abū al-Dawānīq al-Manṣūr — may God requite him as he deserves.

Were we to open up the discourse concerning those of the pure progeny who were killed in the days of these tyrants, the discussion would grow long.

The Crimes of Abū al-Dawānīq

As for Abū al-Dawānīq — may God requite him — he did away, by the sword, captivity, and imprisonment, with the great ones of the family of Muḥammad ﷺ.

In sum, the swords of the two dynasties — Umayyad and ʿAbbāsid — never ceased to drip with their blood and the blood of their partisans.
