Full Lineage

Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd ibn al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥasan al-Sibt (peace be upon them).

His Distinction

Maternal grandfather of Imam al-Hādī ilā al-Ḥaqq Yaḥyā ibn al-Ḥusayn (peace be upon them). Present with Imam Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm and ruler of Medina and its environs.

Death

After the death of Imam Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq, at the age of sixty years.

His Identity

Imam Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd ibn al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥasan al-Sibt (peace be upon them). This Imam is the maternal grandfather of al-Hādī ilā al-Ḥaqq Yaḥyā ibn al-Ḥusayn (peace be upon them).

His Role During the Rising of Imam Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm

He (peace be upon him) was with Imam Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm (peace be upon them) during the days of his caliphate, and he ruled Medina and its environs. He died after the death of Imam Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq, at the age of sixty years.

His Significance in the Chain of Imamate

As the maternal grandfather of Imam al-Hādī ilā al-Ḥaqq Yaḥyā ibn al-Ḥusayn (peace be upon them) — the founder of the Zaydī Imamate in Yemen — this Imam occupies a distinguished place in the genealogical chain connecting the Yemeni Imāmate to the sons of al-Ḥasan al-Sibt.
