Abu al-Qasim Idris ibn Ja’far
A claimant to the Imamate in Medina under al-Muqtadir, put to death by poison for it — and the forefather, generations on, of Imam al-Mu’ayyad bi-llah Yahya ibn Hamza.
Among the notables of the Zaydiyya is Abu al-Qasim Idris ibn Ja’far, who raised his claim to the Imamate in Medina in the days of the Abbasid caliph al-Muqtadir, and was given poison to drink for it.

Ibn Abi al-Futuh al-Hindi al-Sufi said: “Idris ibn Ja’far had laid claim to the imamate in Medina during the days of al-Muqtadir, and so he was given poison to drink.”
